Original art from the book Vaesen. The original sketches are the hand drawn foundation of what later becomes my finished illustrations so they’re all pencils on paper. Naturally, as unique originals, there’s only one of each. The size of the piece is 23,5 x 21 cm (roughly 9,25 x 8,3").
The classic image of fairies is one of tiny, white, luminous women with wings on their backs. This is partly correct, because this is often how they choose to reveal themselves, but if nature spirits are shapeshifters in general, then fairies are especially so. They can take a range of different forms depending on their mood, the time of year, their environment and who is watching them.
