Eyewitness accounts describe the forest spirits as small, monkey-sized women who sometimes wear dresses woven from leaves and flowers. The Leaf-Maidens are most often seen at night, when they scurry along the branches of trees, through moonlit glades and over the forest floor’s moss-covered boulders.
