When winter sweeps across the northern islands of Japan it brings not only cold and ice, but a dreaded undead being. Yuki-onna, the Snow Woman, appears as an incredibly beautiful but disconcertingly pale woman with long black hair, dressed all in white – the colour of death in Japanese tradition. She never leaves footprints and seemingly floats just above the snow. Yuki-onna can also turn into a frosty mist that coils in through the tiniest crack in hunt of sleeping prey. A kiss from her ice- cold blue lips will freeze you solid, and one look into her unfathomable eyes fills even the bravest heart with terror.
