EACH ART PRINT IS INDIVIDUALLY SIGNED BY THE ARTIST.

This sprite is said to rule over the water where a spring rises up from underground. In ancient Greece these water nymphs were known as naiads. They often appeared as beautiful young women and were known for their ability to see into the future.

These nature spirits are familiar in Nordic countries too, but here they are called källrå, guardians of the spring. They are usually well-disposed towards humans and help those who show them respect. Each nymph guards her own spring, and in return for an offering she will give the water healing powers. Normally she remains invisible or takes the form of a frog. If you see an unusually large frog or toad close to a water source then it might possibly be a källfly – the nymph in its animal form. They say that the water in a well or spring where amphibians thrive is always drinkable.

The illustration is from the book Vaesen.

The art print is in A3 format (29,7 x 42 cm / 11.7 x 16.5") and is printed on fine art paper, Munken Pure 300 gsm. The print is signed by the artist. Click the image to see the layout of the print, the print does not fill up the whole sheet of paper.
